Apple Pie Power Smoothie

Who doesn’t love apple pie?   How about apple pie….. loaded with protein….. AND you can have it on the go?  It doesnt get better than that!!   This is the perfect pre workout smoothie to get your protien and carbs to push through your workouts with power and  tons of nutrients to keep your body fine tuned.

I have included a “pre-workout” recipe and a “protein power” recipe below.  The difference: the honey.  You can subsitute 1/2T of Splenda for honey to help trim back on carbs and calories as well as the natural sugars.   I love the “pre-workout” version for a preworkout and the protein power version for a meal replacement smoothie on a busy day.  No matter how you mix it up- its delicious!

 

Ingredients

1- 5.3oz container of non-fat plain greek yogurt (I like to use Dannon Oikos brand)

1 medium Granny Smith Apple- chopped

1/2C unsweetened coconut milk or almond milk

1T honey (OR sub 1/2T Splenda)

1/2C ice

1/4t cinnamon

1 scoop 1stPhorm Level-1 Vanilla Ice Cream protein powder

1/4t lemon juice- fresh or bottled

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until thick and smooth.
