Pumpkin Puppy Treats

With the scent of pumpkin in the air everywhere you turn lately I just wanted to repost this recipe that I posted this pat May to remind you all that puppies love Pumpkin too!!!

Our 3 bulldogs love these treats and actually prefer them to any store bought treats!  The best part- They are all ‘good for them’ ingredients.  They are inexpensive and easy to make.

You can make a large batch and freeze them for up to 2 months.  Store treats in an airtight container or plastic baggie in the fridge.  Your pups will thank you!

These are also very soothing for their tummies.  I first made them to help soothe Charleys (pictured below) upset stomach one day.  THey worked like a charm and they loved them so much I make them on the regular.

Add some fresh parsley to them to freshen their breath too!


2-1/2 C Oat flour

2T Dry milk

1/2t salt

1/2C Canned Pumpkin

2 eggs

1T Fresh Parsley – optional


Preheat oven to 350*

Mix eggs and pumpkin in a medium mixing bowl

Add in dry milk, salt, flour and parsley (if you like)

Knead together with your hands as it will be too stiff for an electric mixer.

Once you have a ball of dough, lightly flour your countertop and roll dough to 1/2″ thickness.  Using a cookie cutter that is the correct size for your pups treats, cut out the treats and place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Continue to gather, knead together and roll out dough until all dough is used.

Place treats in oven and bake for 15 minutes.  Remove and turn treats over and bake and additional 15 minutes.

Remove from oven and cool completely.  Store in an airtight container.

Depending upon cookie cutter size, this will make approx. 25 medium – sized treats
