Get your gravy boats ready!

Did you know gravy boats date back to 1690!!  They became more popular in the mid 18th century and were simplified with the style we know now in response to the growing market among the middle class.  It was often referred to as a “sauce boat” but was coined “gravy boat” because that’s what it was mainly used for in households.  I don’t own one, so here is a cute photo of one. haha.

So fill your boats and try this wonderfully delicious turkey gravy recipe for your Thanksgiving feast.  You’ll love it…I promise!

1/4C all purpose flour (or more as needed)
1/4C turkey drippings
2C water
2 Chicken bouillon cubes

In a skillet over medium heat, whisk the flour with turkey drippings until smooth then reduce heat to low and cook, stirring frequently until dark brown, about 10mins.  Stir in the water and bouillon cubes and simmer until the cubes have dissolved and the gravy is thickened and smooth.  About 10 mins.
